Electric Palace (formerly known as Monk Tamony) are TJ Rosenthal (vocals, guitar) and Joe Zdaa (drums, vocals). This bi coastal duo grew out of a happy accident. After realizing he'd been writing songs for a band that didn't exist, the NYC based Rosenthal showed the material to long time friend Zdaa, (who now resides in LA) back in late 2014. Soon after, rehearsals were underway.
The duo released their debut EP under Monk Tamony in the summer of 2016. Mixed and mastered by Justin Shturtz at Sterling Sound, their single "Leaders" was voted Q Magazine track of the day.
2017 tour dates to support the
album led into 2018. Where the band opened for Highly Suspect throughout many regions in the U.S. While making various festival stops that included sets in Austin, Texas for SXSW. This period also saw Rosenthal and Zdaa grow the project’s dirty guitar, and keyboard colored style even further. Teaming up with producer Sune Wagner of the Raveonettes on future follow up material.
Currently, the band’s upcoming first single release under the male Electric Palace is slated for a Summer 2019 release. To be followed by a new album and fall tour. With show dates to be announced.
